Liebe Promovierende und sonstige Leser dieses Newsletter,

In schnellen Schritten neigt sich die zweite Amtsperiode des
Promovierendenrates ihrem Ende zu.
Wir würden sagen es bleiben noch Dinge zu tun. Von daher suchen wir
Kandidierende für die neue Wahl.

Promovierende stellen einen hohen Anteil der Arbeitnehmer einer Hochschule.
In den Gremien sind sie in aller Regel unterrepräsentiert. Leider ist
auch die Verankerung des Promovierendenrates in der Grundordnung
weiterhin ungelöst.

Nichtsdestotrotz gab es auch Erfreuliches. So wurde die Serie der
Mittagsreihe fortgesetzt. Zusätzlich wurde die erste Freiberger
Konferenz von Promovierenden für Promovierende organisiert. Diese stieß
auf großes Interesse.

Nun ist es an den Nächsten die Arbeit fortzusetzen.

Für Interessierte (ob als Kandidat/innen oder einfach so) legen wir euch
folgendes freien Fachtag der GEW ans Herz: Beschäftigungsbedigungen und
Finanzierung der Hochschulen in Sachsen (Samstag, 26.11.2016 11-17 Uhr

Habt ihr Lust selbst zu gestalten und aktiv zu werden? Die Wahl des
neuen Prorats findet am 6/7. Dezember statt. Meldet euch bis zum 25.
November unter 
info AT prorat.tu-freiberg.de
 , wenn ihr kandidieren wollt
oder fragen habt. Idealerweise mit einem Bild, eurer Fakultät, eurem
Fach und 2-3 Sätzen warum ihr in den Prorat wollt und was eure
besonderen Ziele sind.

Dear PhD-students and readers interested in this newsletter,

time is flying by and we are approaching the end of the second election
period of the PhD Council. However, there are still a lot of things to
be done. Thus, we are looking for new, motivated candidates for the
upcoming elections.

PhD students make up for a large part of employees at a university.
Nevertheless, they are - in general - underrepresented in university
boards and commitees. Unfortunately, making the PhD Council a permanent
commitee mentionend in the basic regulations of the university
(Grundordnung), was not successful until now.

However, there are also positive things to be reported. We continued to
have interesting lunch meetings (MIttagsrunde) covering a variety of
topics. In addition, we organised the PhD conference which was a great
success and received a lot of positive resonance.

Now, it is time for the next people to continue the work.

If you are interested (either to be a candidate or just because you want
to learn more about the topic), there is a very interesting offer of the
GEW union: The topic will be conditions of employment and finances of
universities in Saxony. The free workshop will take place on Saturday,
26/11/2016 from 11-17 o'clock in Dresden. You can find more information

Are you motivated to change how things are going and become actively
involved? The upcoming elections of the new PhD Council will be held on
December 6 and 7. Mail us

the 25th, if you want to run for the PhD Council or have any questions.
Ideally, you would add a photo and information about your faculty, your
subject and 2-3 sentences why you want to join ProRat and possibly your
specific goals.
